Cogeneration or CHP (combined heat and power) is the use of a turbine to generate electricity and process heat generated. while is utilized as hot water supply. the term Trigeneration is also known or combine hill, heat and power referring to the simultaneous generation of electricity using heat and fresh air of the combustion process.
Unlike conventional generation, where the heat generated is discarded, Cogeneration is a process more efficient, the heat produced in the combustion process is used for other processes, in other words reflects the heat produced for use as thermal energy. Efficiency that can be obtained from this process are above 80%.
Micro CHP or micro CHP is also called distributed or decentralized generation. This type of generation is usually used, commercial or small-medium industry, connected so as to operate in parallel with the local network provider residential applications (buildings).
